What kind of websites do you design?

I create custom websites for service-providers, place-based businesses, coaches, creatives, wellness professionals, and purpose-driven brands who are ready to show up online with clarity and confidence. Every site is tailored, strategic, and thoughtfully designed to grow with you.

What platforms do you use?

I design on Squarespace, Rocketspark, and Wix. All three are intuitive, mobile-friendly, and easy for you to manage post-launch. If you're not sure which is best for you, I'll guide you through the pros and cons based on your needs, goals, content, and workflow.

I'm not tech-savvy. Will I still be able to manage my website?

Absolutely. I set everything up so it's simple to use after launch, no matter your comfort level with tech. You'll get a tutorial and 14–30 days of post-launch support, depending on the pathway you choose, so you feel confident making edits and updates.

Do you offer branding and copywriting too?

Yes. You can add branding, image curation, and strategic copywriting to any pathway if it's not already included, and you want everything taken care of in one place.

Do you handle hosting, domain setup, or email integration?

Yes, I can set up your hosting, connect your domain, and integrate email marketing tools (like Flodesk, Mailchimp, or ConvertKit) so everything is ready to go when we launch.

What if I don't have all my content ready yet?

That's completely fine. I'll guide you through a content-prep process with checklists, examples, and feedback along the way. Only Flight Essentials works from the basis that you have your content ready to go. Please note that it is much more difficult to build a site efficiently without all the content ready, so this will extend overall build time and possibly the cost.

Do you offer e-commerce or booking system setup?

Yes. I can integrate an online shop, booking systems, or other functionality on Squarespace, Rocketspark, or Wix. Depending on the most appropriate pathway for your build, these integrations might incur an extra cost, which we'll discuss during a free discovery call.

Will my site be SEO-friendly?

Yes, every site is built with SEO best practices in mind, including mobile optimisation, keyword structure, and metadata setup. I'll also give you tips for maintaining and improving SEO after launch.

Do you work with clients outside New Zealand?

Absolutely. I work with clients all over the world. With Zoom, shared docs, an online portal and clear timelines, the process feels personal and seamless no matter your time zone.

Will I get support after my site launches?

Yes, every project includes a minimum 14 days of post-launch support. For longer-term help, I offer support retainers or one-off power sessions.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. All packages come with flexible payment plans to make the process manageable. We'll discuss options during your discovery and proposal phase.

How do I get started?

It begins with a free discovery call. We'll talk about what's working, what's not, what you need and what you'd love to see through the design process. Then I'll send you a custom proposal and timeline.

Is Hatch right for me?

Hatch is perfect if you're starting out and want a beautiful, strategic online presence without the overwhelm of a full build. It's designed for early-stage businesses, side projects, and passion-led ideas that need a clear, professional website without the complexity of a multi-page site.

How long does a Hatch one-page website take?

Usually 1–2 weeks, depending on how quickly content and feedback are shared.

Can I upgrade from a one-page website to a larger site later?

Yes. Many clients start with Hatch and move into Flight when they're ready to grow. I design with scalability in mind so the transition is smooth, and I will provide a discount if you come back for a fuller build later.

Who is the Flight multi-page website best for?

If you're ready for a multi-page website with a clear flow, elevated design, and thoughtful strategy, Flight is for you. It's ideal for established businesses or those wanting to make a strong first impression with a custom multi-page website on Squarespace or Rocketspark.

How long does a multi-page website take?

Typically 4–6 weeks, depending on content readiness, feedback, and complexity of requirements.

What is the Featherlight Refresh?

It's a strategic refresh for existing Squarespace or Rocketspark sites. I'll audit your current site, update layouts, refine visuals, tidy up copy, and bring everything into alignment — without starting from scratch.

Is the Featherlight Refresh right for me?

Featherlight Refresh is a good fit if your site exists but feels dated, misaligned, or out of step with where your business is now. If your content and structure mostly work — but the design, copy, or visual language needs a refresh rather than a rebuild — this is likely the right next step.

How much does a website design cost in New Zealand?

Web design costs in New Zealand can vary, but for a simple 3-5 page website budget between $2,500 - $4,000. Volar Creative Studio offers website design from NZD$997 for a one-page Hatch website, from NZD$1,497 for a Featherlight website refresh, and from NZD$2,497 for a multi-page Flight website. All packages include flexible payment plans.

What's your refund or cancellation policy?

I don't offer refunds once a project has begun, but I make sure we're a great fit before we start so you feel confident moving forward. If timelines need to shift, we'll reschedule within my next available window. Cancellations before a project starts require a week's notice so that the slot can be offered to another client.
